Welcome to Flora's Alexander Technique!
A very happy and prosperous New Year!
2013 is conspiring to be a great year for personal and global change.
"Walk in Balance" was created to support your ability to seek out constructive change in order to handle life's ups and downs with more grace and permissiveness.
Balance is a metaphor for life; there will always be situations that knock you off balance, but it is how you react to these knocks that determines what you become in life.
You can more easily swing back into balance if you have an awareness of the components of balance which a usually operating below our day to day awareness. Balance is a multifaceted act; it involves what and how you think, your sensory and body awareness, your emotional makeup, plus the management of your life-force to generate well-being.
Well-being (and freedom from pain), skill development and longevity are some of the goals I carry into the New Year.
The potent principles of the Alexander Technique teach the re-establishment of conscious balance and inner poise; it is a tool to calm our overtaxed senses and support a healthy upright posture.
Effortless upright posture ensures free flowing movements in all daily activities. It supports our enjoyment of life and the balancing act that life is.

"Qigong asks us to lighten our grip on how we perceive the world and how we approach our lives. To get into the Qi enhancement state means that you will have to relax when formerly you have become tense. You will be electing to breathe deeply when formerly you have held or constrained your breath.
The Qi, mysterious and invisible, is ever present though not obvious.
Qi creates a whole new view of life.
Qi is always present and it is free. Begin to notice it around you. Step outside, think past the sidewalk or concrete to the soil, rocks and the planet below you. Look up into open blue sky or the black night and speculate on the boundless nature of the cosmos. Take on the thinking of the ancient Qi masters, sincerely penetrating nature to understand and align with the forces of heaven
and earth." R. Jahnke
